Two Liebherr LPS 420 cranes were transported from Germany to the U.S. East Coast aboard Annegret.
The heavy lift vessel Annegret has successfully transported two fully assembled Liebherr LPS 420 shore cranes from Rostock, Germany, to the U.S. East Coast.
The delivery supports port infrastructure upgrades in Morehead City and Wilmington, North Carolina.
Each crane, weighing close to 500 tonnes, was shipped fully assembled — requiring detailed engineering, tailored lifting concepts and carefully planned sea fastening to ensure safe transport across the Atlantic.
Handling cargo of this scale and configuration demands precise coordination from load port to final discharge. Teams from Liebherr, deugro and the JSI Alliance worked closely together, aligning engineering, operations and communication throughout the project.
Once installed, the cranes will enhance cargo handling capabilities at both ports, supporting growing trade volumes along the U.S. East Coast and strengthening regional infrastructure.
The successful execution highlights the ability to deliver complex heavy lift cargo across long distances while maintaining full control over every stage of the operation.
