From Reactor to Stinger: Fairmaster Completes Multi-Cargo Heavy Lift Voyage

A three-stage operation transporting reactor, boilers and stinger highlights engineering precision and operational flexibility.

Multiple cargoes.
One seamless voyage.

Fairmaster transported a 1,225-tonne reactor, two 707-tonne boilers and a 1,122-tonne stinger across multiple ports in a coordinated heavy lift operation.

The heavy lift vessel Fairmaster has completed a complex multi-stage voyage, transporting a reactor, two boilers and a stinger across multiple ports.

The operation demonstrates the flexibility and engineering expertise required to handle diverse heavy lift cargo within a single project.

Voyage 1: Reactor loading

The journey began with the loading of a 1,225-tonne reactor, lifted directly from a barge into the vessel’s hold. Due to the cargo’s size and length of over 47 metres, the operation required precise engineering and careful planning to ensure safe positioning on board.

Voyage 2: Boilers in Mundra

Following the initial loading, Fairmaster proceeded to Mundra, India, where two large boilers were loaded, each weighing 707 tonnes. The operation was executed alongside other port activities, requiring efficient coordination and seamless integration into the terminal environment.

Voyage 3: Stinger installation in Karimum

The final stage of the voyage took place in Karimum, Indonesia, where a 1,122-tonne stinger was loaded. Due to its height and structural complexity, the lift required advanced 3D engineering planning to ensure all clearances were calculated accurately and the operation could be carried out safely.

Across all three stages, the project required a high level of coordination, engineering precision and operational flexibility. Handling multiple cargo types with varying dimensions and lifting requirements within a single voyage highlights the capabilities of the JSI Alliance in executing complex heavy lift logistics worldwide.
