SAL Expands Deck Carrier Fleet with Two Semi-Submersible Vessels
Two new vessels strengthen deck carrier capabilities and expand solutions for offshore and floating cargo.
Vessel updates
SAL is expanding its deck carrier fleet with two semi-submersible vessels – MV Luisa and MV Alma – strengthening its position in transporting floating and offshore cargo.
The addition marks a significant step in broadening SAL’s service offering across heavy lift, MPP and deck carrier operations.
The two vessels bring advanced semi-submersible capabilities, making them well suited for transporting floating cargo and supporting complex offshore projects worldwide. Their design allows for efficient loading and transport of large and heavy structures that require specialised handling.
With this expansion, SAL is doubling its capacity in the deck carrier segment, providing clients with increased flexibility, additional tonnage options and tailored transport solutions for demanding project cargo operations.
Together with its existing fleet, SAL now offers one of the most comprehensive service portfolios in the market — covering the full scope of MPP, heavy lift and deck carrier operations.
Deliveries are expected between October 2025 and April 2026, marking the next phase in SAL’s fleet development.
