A milestone for MV Luisa and SAL Offshore

SAL Offshore, part of JSI Alliance, has successfully completed the first loading operation of its fully owned and managed semi-submersible Heavy Transport Vessel (HTV), MV Luisa.

The project involved the float-on transport of the inland barges Scaldis and Duandra from the Netherlands to Uruguay and marked an important milestone in SAL Offshore’s development of its in-house heavy transport capabilities.

From engineering and project management through to marine operations and vessel execution, every stage of the project was managed by one integrated team. This approach demonstrates JSI Alliance’s ability to combine specialised engineering expertise, operational experience and dedicated heavy transport assets for complex marine transportation projects.

Using MV Luisa’s semi-submersible capabilities, the two barges were floated over the vessel’s submerged deck before the vessel was raised to secure the cargo for its transatlantic voyage.

The successful operation further expands the versatility of MV Luisa and strengthens the range of solutions JSI Alliance can provide for heavy transport and offshore projects worldwide.
